Our work evolves through collaboration with young people who face physical, neurological, and social barriers, ensuring it’s shaped by their voices and experiences. Together, we build communities where self-expression, wellbeing, and joy overcome barriers to participation.

Our projects take shape through interactive workshops, creative sessions, and events that blend technology, art, music, and play. Offering flexible and inclusive ways for people to engage and express themselves. Through sound, touch, movement, and light, we create playful, multisensory experiences that spark creativity, support communication and promote wellbeing.

Alongside our local projects, we run events across Scotland, bringing inclusive, interactive experiences to different communities. Wherever we go, we make innovative spaces for self-expression, connection, and fun!

Who We Are

Soundplay Projects is led by visual artist Ewan Sinclair and musician Bal Cooke, playful innovators who drive the creative practice that underpins all the work we deliver. A fascination with electronic music, abstract animation and open source technologies is underpinned by an interest in counter cultural spaces, psychedelia and multisensory experience. They share many years of knowledge working in community arts settings, care organisations and schools. They are supported by a board of trustees and a small team of freelancers and specialists.

We are part of Creative Scotland’s multi year funding portfolio and have had support from a number of other funders including OneRen, Youth Music UK, Aberdeen Council, The Space, Glasgow Life and Youth Link. We supplement this with income generated from partnership projects and installation hire.
